Cavani: "We're going to take it forward putting in this tenacity"
Edinson Cavani spoke to the media immediately after the match. The Uruguayan striker analysed what happened in the 1-1 draw against Villarreal CF at Mestalla.
Close to victory
The goal came from an action that took us by surprise, it was a bouncing ball that fell in front of him. They took the lead and then we had to fight back. I think the team was up to the task of rowing, even to win the match. They put in a lot of defiance, fought, worked hard and, for a moment, it looked like the game was going to go our way. But well, we drew and we have to look at what's to come, and work as we have done so far. We're in a difficult situation, but with the tenacity, we're putting in, we're going to take it forward.
Keep fighting
That's the way forward. But, many times we have entered a situation where things are difficult and we have never had the calm to do what we are capable of. It's showing that the team have tenacity and that's the way forward. We have to keep pulling together. There are a few finals ahead that will give us the chance to achieve our objective.

More than 43,000 at Mestalla
I want to thank the people who attended and pushed us on. It's normal that, because of the team's situation, the fans can get a bit uncomfortable. These are things in football that you have to know how to handle. Beyond that, the fans are accompanying us, they're pushing uson. They are the driving force we need and we are feeling it. God willing that we can continue down this path, that the fans can keep pushing us on and help us to move forward in this year that has been very difficult.
